Yesterday, Susan Bolton, a federal district judge in Arizona, issued a preliminary injunction (.pdf) blocking controversial provisions of SB 1070 / HB 2162, the state’s recently passed “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act.” This ruling came in the Department of Justice’s challenge to the law, one of several ongoing lawsuits. The injunction prevents the State of Arizona from enforcing the following sections 2(B), 3, part of 5, and 6 of the law (.pdf).
